Carl Sverre

Bug Catcher at Antithesis

Presenting:

Carl is a software engineer focused on correctness, distributed systems, and finding weird bugs before users do. He currently works at Antithesis, where he’s helping solve automated testing at scale by teaching agents to think in terms of properties and invariants instead of scripted test cases.

Previously, Carl founded orbitinghail, an open-source company building infrastructure for syncing and storing application state. He created Graft, a transactional storage engine for partial, on-demand replication to the edge, and SQLSync, a multiplayer wrapper around SQLite.

Before that, Carl spent ten years at SingleStore (fka MemSQL), working across the database engine, cloud infrastructure, streaming systems, Wasm extensibility, and large-scale testing. He later led the company’s incubation lab and is a co-inventor on SingleStore’s real-time data retrieval patent.

He started his career at Mixpanel, building analytics infrastructure and developing an enduring fascination with data systems and complex software behavior.
